HARARE – One of the country’s struggling mobile network operator Telecel Zimbabwe has entered into a partnership with Champions Insurance in which the company will use its outlets to sell insurance products from the short term insurer.
The outlets will also sell Zinara and ZBC licences for Champions.
The partnership with Telecel has increased the number of Champions Insurance branches to 21.
“We are going to increase our product diversification to meet the emerging needs of our clients and economic conditions. This approach will broaden our revenue base as we grow to become a top player in the short-term insurance sector,” Champions MD Lovemore Madavo said.
Champions Insurance has in the past aggressively pursued the company’s product diversification plan which includes home insurance, Legal Aid, Travel insurance, Livestock & Crop insurance and Cyber Security insurance that will see an increase in its revenue streams going into the future.
Telecel CEO Angeline Vere said the sale of insurance is not only limited to Telecel subscribers, but gives convenience to anyone who walks into the outlets.
“…the partnership is a way of increasing convenience to our customers, anyone who needs insurance at the same time wanting Telecel products can approach any of our shops and experience the one stop shopping,” Vere said.
