ZANU-PF Central Committee member Arrested for armed robbery

BULAWAYO – ZANU PF central committee member and former Bulawayo Youth executive member Khumbulani Mpofu was arrested with six other armed robbers who allegedly stole about 400 kgs of pregnant carbons, cellphones and cash amounting to US$250 at Ansh Red mine in Shurugwi on Thursday, at Flamingo tollgate on the 24th of December 2022.

Delta Misheck (32), Khumbulani Mpofu (42), Promise Dube (22), Moyo Phakhamani (30), Canicious Sibanda (28), Khumalo Mlamuli (31) and Munetsi Takunda (29).

Mpofu was once a ZANUPF aspiring candidate for Pumula constituency.

On December 22 Mpofu and 6 others went Ansh Red Mine, Shurugwi and robbed the mine of 400 kgs of loaded caborn.

On the 24th of December police received a tip-off that the gang was driving towards a toll gate. They were driving a white Ford Ranger registration number AEX 3081. The car was driven by Khumbulani Mpofu and had a ZANU PF VVIP sticker on the screen.

ZANU PF Secretary for Transport in Politburo July Moyo has wrote a letter of withdrawal of the car which was by these armed robers.
