HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired State Security minister Owen ‘Mdha’ Ncube with immediate effect for conduct inappropriate for a minister of government, his office said on Monday.

Ncube was appointed to the portfolio in 2018.

In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda said Ncube has been removed from office in line with Section 104 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

Ncube becomes the fifth minister to be fired by Mnangagwa after Prisca Mupfumira, Energy Mutodi, Obadiah Moyo and Fortune Chasi.
