Pomona Land Heist Saga Haunts Ken Sharpe’s Business Empire

HARARE – Shoddy land dealings continues to haunt controversial ‘land baron’ Kenneth Raydon Sharpe business empire as the US$205 million Pomona land heist saga continues to haunt the businessman as more pressure mounts for reversal of the deal.
Sharpe’s companies which include Augur Investments OU, West Properties, Sunshine Development and Pomona City are under litigation.
“The companies are struggling to sell housing stands in Harare’s leafy surbub of Borrowedale and opted to use musician Jah Prayzah and Star FM radio personality Kudzai Violet Gwara (KVG) to market residential stands under Sharpe’s business empire,” a source told this publication.
The company’s Chief Operations Officer of Russian origin Tatiana Ellis Aleshina is also being accused of name dropping and using the government and Zanu PF official’s names to run their shoddy business dealings.
Today , T& C construction company and Paragon Printing directors appeared in court facing criminal nuisance charges after they allegedly erected a billboard along Borrowdale Road in Harare denouncing the purchase of the land.
Prominent Harare lawyer Mr Tendai Biti told the court that , the State has failed to come up with clear charges against his clients.
State Prosecutor Tambudzani Fungura failed to produce adequate papers to the court.
“Cautionary statement to the members of the public. Pomona city. Land subject to litigation. Title deeds for land has been placed as security, under case number, HC4599/19, HC5989/19, HC10315. Purchase of stands is at risk of Purchaser.”
Sometime in December 2020, it has emerged that the two are part of T & C construction which was subcontracted by Sharpe for the construction of the Airport Road in 2007.
“T & C Construction was subcontracted to construct Airport Road and they have not been paid to date, they were promised land by Sharpe but he has not honoured his promise, the same way he duped another Harare businessman George Katsimberis over US$4 million after they partnered to develop Pokugara Estate,” sources told this publication.
The source added that Pomona City is a subject of litigation as it was fraudulently given to Sharpe as payment for the construction of Airport Road he never finished.
“Instead of paying T & C construction, Sharpe is now developing and selling the land, so there has been a number of litigations against the transfer of Pomona land but Sharpe continues to sell the land, this is what these guys were trying to warn people against,” added the source.
The whole story is emanating from the US$205 million Pomona land heist saga which Ken Sharpe is battling with several cases before the Courts.
Sharpe is currently at large and believed to be hiding in Mauritius with “a name dropper”  Aleshina  doing most of the business on his behalf.
Sharpe is facing a litany of charges ranging from money laundering and corruption emanating from shoddy land dealings in Harare worthy US$2 billion.
The matter has been postponed to October 8, 2021 for continuation.
