Hichilema’s party response to Charamba’s undiplomatic behavior

HARARE – The Zambian President’s party, the United Party for National Development (UPND), has responded to President Emmerson Mnangagwa spokesperson George Charamba’s reckless statement on their leader.
Charamba in May this year labelled UPND leader and now Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema a sellout.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson repeated the same utterances this week despite Hichilema winning the Zambia elections.
Hichilema’s Party spokesperson Joseph Kalimbwe told NewsDay that it was wrong for Charamba to attack his boss when there was no previous relationship with the new Zambian leader.
“In my own personal view, it is catastrophic. (The comments) cannot be taken lightly. What is worrisome is that he is using a fake name because he cannot come out openly as a spokesperson of a head of State to be saying such shameless statements,” he angrily said.
