Dynamos and Highlanders clash in Uhuru cup

By Tafadzwa Mupfururirwa
HARARE – Dynamos and Highlanders will be looking to assert early dominance over each other this season when they clash in the Independence Cup match tomorrow at the giant National Sports Stadium.
The occasion wouldn’t have been any better to signal a return of local football as The Battle of Zimbabwe lights up Independence Day celebrations.
Highlanders and Dynamos have had many battles on the football pitch and this Sunday promises to be even better.
Even with just two weeks’ training behind them, Dynamos versus Highlanders is still a spectacle.
The two clubs have made major signings with Dynamos looking to unleash Frank Makarati, former Bosso striker Newman Sianchali and other new faces.
For Bosso, Joel Ngodzo will be looking to signal his return with a massive performance while new coach Mandla Mpofu will also be hoping to write his name in unforgettable books.
This is a match that has produced new heroes like Tapiwa Kapini, Norman Maroto, Johannes Ngodzo and Eddie Mashiri, among other great names, to signal the start of their careers in the Independence Cup.
The match kicks off 3pm.
