ZANU PF YOUTH LEAGUE CUSHIONS VULNERABLE YOUTHS THROUGH FOOD AID DISTRIBUTION

By Tendai Moyo
HARARE – In efforts to complement Government to cushion Zimbabweans during these covid19 times, the ZANU PF Youth League is distributing food aid.

This move comes at a time when businesses are wantonly hiking prices of basic commodities taking advantage of the National lockdown period to profiteer from already financially strained citizens.

Sharing the details, ZANU PF Acting Deputy Secretary for Youth League Cde Tendai Chirau said 60 tonnes of rice is being distributed to vulnerable youths in different places with all ten Provinces being allocated 5 tonnes.

“This initiative is aimed at giving support to vulnerable youths in response to the effects of the lockdown and not a campaigning tool,” Cde Chirau said.
“Leaders in different locations identify vulnerable youths and the leaders within the areas will distribute the rice.”

Cde Chirau added that the Youth League is “encouraging youths to adhere to the set Covid-19 and lockdown protocols and turn the lockdown into productive dividend for example through farming and digital marketing.”
Distribution of the rice is currently underway through Provincial Youth Chairpersons and Chairpersons of Affiliates.
ZANU PF affiliates ZICOSU, National Youth Service, ZIPARAYON, Children of War Veterans, Broad Alliance Against Sanctions, ZILIWACO Trust and Zimbabwe Young Nurses Association have already received the rice.
