The much awaited Thokozani Khupe led MDC’s congress scheduled for today has been postponed indefinitely, due to lack of a quorum and following squabbles over the voters roll. This was as the Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora was accused of tampering with the electoral roll. Efforts to obtain a comment from him were fruitless at the time of writing as his phone kept ringing without being answered.
At the time of writing, none of the top leadership were picking up their calls just as Khupe herself briefly answered and then quickly disengaged. Her compatriot Elias Mudzuri responded saying he did not want to speak. “Why don’t you talk to the others,” he said.
