Zim records 121 new Covid-19 cases

HARARE – Zimbabwe on Monday recorded 121 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s total confirmed infections to 10839, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said. All 121 are all local cases.
This comes at a time when most people in high density suburbs are no longer wearing face masks and practicing social distancing as they seem to believe that the pandemic has passed.
“121 new cases and 3 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Seven day rolling average for new cases rises to 115 from 109 yesterday,” the health ministry said in its daily update.
Results came out of 1270 PCR tests conducted yesterday with positivity at 9.5%.
The number of people who have recovered from the virus increased by 92 to s 8972, leaving 1573 active cases. A total of 294 people have succumbed to the virus so far.
